Artists, designers and theoreticians are invited to submit research and production proposals to become a researcher at the Jan van Eyck Academie. Candidates can either apply with a topic of their own or for a project formulated by the institute itself. The works exhibited are "love2" by Wayne Clements, "island2" by Martin Howse, "Microcodes" by Pall Thayer and "Class Library" by Graham Harwood. The exhibition presents works that use the computer as a space for social revolution, as location, an ungraspable island that slowly transmits itself to other computers, as actor, mimicking other machines. Executable language, thoughts, ideas and actions translated into code that can be interpreted and executed by a machine.

WORKSPACE is de jaarlijkse prijsvraag waarin ZAAL5 op zoek gaat naar talentvolle filmmakers en kunstenaars die zich bezig houden met film, nieuwe (interactieve) media, video-installaties, performance en visuals.
Om deel te nemen aan WORKSPACE 10, dien je een projectplan in voor een site-specific installatie met bewegend beeld in ZAAL5.
